Dim Stars tworzyli: Richard Hell (głos; Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Television, Neon Boys, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers), Thurston Moore i Steve ShelleySonic Youth), Don Fleming (bas i głos; Gumball, Velvet Mokeys, B.A.L.L.) oraz Robert Quine (gitara; Richard Hell & The Voidoids) – świetny, zmarły w 2004 roku gitarzysta, który współpracował m.in. z Lou Reedem, Tomem Waitsem, Brianem Eno i Ikue Morim. Quine grał chyba tylko na LP Dim Stars.

Znacie jakąś grupę, która tak naprawdę dawałaby radę? Obie płyty są dobre, słucha się ich z przyjemnością, ale jakoś nieszczególnie mnie ruszają. Momenty są, jednak trochę ich za mało, jak na skład, który je nagrał. W każdym bądź razie – trzeba znać, bo nie co dzień zbiera się taka ekipa, by coś nagrać.
